The progressive
candidate for CA's
DEMOCRATIC PARTY
Endorsed by California's progressive leaders
Supporting CA's
BLACK Women
David is proud to have stood in solidarity with our Black women leaders who have been the cornerstone of our success as a party.

David & Gloria Berry, 2018

As Chair of the San Francisco Democratic Party, David appointed Honey Mahogany to the San Francisco Democratic County Central Committee; she is the first Black Transgender woman to serve on a CA County Central Committee.

Sophie Maxwell
When the San Francisco Democratic Party ran Red to Blue SF with Speaker Pelosi (to flip Congressional seats in Southern and Central California), it was important that a Black woman lead our initiative. As a result, David appointed former San Francisco Supervisor Sophie Maxwell to spearhead that effort.

Kimberly Ellis
David Campos was proud to endorse and support Kimberly Ellis in her 2017 run for CDP Chair.
As a formerly undocumented gay man, it has always been important to me to stand in solidarity with our nation’s Black women.
As Vice Chair, I will be committed to continuing to empower and support our state’s Black women leaders. This is why I'm so proud to have these Black women leaders support my candidacy.

David was born in Guatemala in the middle of the Guatemalan Civil War.
At the age of 14, his parents brought the family to the United States to escape the political turmoil in Guatemala.
David carried his sister on his back as they crossed the border.

Growing Up in LA
David's family settled in Southern California where he learned to speak English in South Central Los Angeles’ public schools. David studied hard and graduated first in his class.
Meeting Future Husband
David worked in food service to put himself through Stanford University, and then law school at Harvard. It was there, David met his husband Phil.

Progressive Leader
David is an unabashed progressive leader.
As a San Francisco County Supervisor, he fought for universal healthcare, free transit for youth, and clean public power.
As Chief-of-Staff to SF District Attorney, Chesa Boudin, David has fought to reform our criminal justice system and address racial bias.
As Chair of the SF Democratic Party, he’s been a strong ally of organized labor, fighting to make the rights of working families the party’s top priority.
